Jose Betances

Jose Betances is a mechanical engineer at NK Labs. He has experience with design for manufacturing, compliant mechanism design, and prototyping.

At NK Labs, Jose has designed proof of concept prototypes to measure the effectiveness of optical and airflow subsystems. Additionally, he has developed a custom bed of nails PCB test fixture. He has also designed mechanical subsystems for fusion energy research, including a custom kinematic mount for an electron detector and a safety enclosure. Prior to working at NK Labs, Jose worked as a research assistant in an MIT lab where he worked on the design and process development of electrodes while supporting experimental setup.

Jose graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He enjoys reading, playing basketball, and trying new food in his free time.
